More Music, yay!

Posted in Uncategorized by Thomas on the September 26th, 2008

Hello everyone! This is Thomas.

I basically introduced this post with my last comment, but here it is. Some more music, and this time it’s for fairies, pixies, sprites, tinker bell, etc.

Only, it’s really short because we haven’t worked on it much (Daniel helps a lot, too).

Hope it sounds interesting!…and maybe a little entertaining… :)

Oh, yah, there’s a clean up dance (that’s the one where the end sounds like a drunken drowning band…might have to change that…) and there’s a main pixie dance that they do when they are just going to do a generic little pixie thing.

Here they are!

The \"Pixie Dance\"

P.S. They don’t work.

Hurricane Report

Posted in Boring Blog Stuff by Ben on the September 14th, 2008

Hello, this is Ben. Yeah, the one in college.

I have not been able to directly contact my family. The cell phones don’t work, landlines don’t work, internet’s down, and the power will probably be out for more than a week.

Luckily, I was able to contact our friends, the Lanes, who don’t live too far away, and who’s landline phone was mysteriously working. They said they hadn’t gone out yet, because the roads were still flooded, and lot’s of trees were down. The part about the trees was rather unnerving. You know what I mean if you’ve ever seen our neighborhood.

Well, this morning I saw I had a missed call from the Lanes, so I called them and they said that they went by our house, and everyone’s okay. There’s a tree blocking the cars in the drive, but some of the guys are planning on chainsaw-ing it soon.

Mom was a little worried about food, but everyone’s sharing, so it should be okay.

The song “Blessed Be The Name of the Lord” meant a little more to me this morning in church, the part about giving and taking away especially. I feel like I woke up.

Yike! It’s Ike!

Posted in Uncategorized by Thomas on the September 12th, 2008

Hahahaha…does anyone get my pun? I know that some of you do, but as for you Northern people who haven’t been paying much attention to the weather lately…Ike is the name of the next hurricane that will strike near Houston!! AGHGHGHGH!.

Anyhow, by now you’ve probably guessed that this is Thomas…

And that this is a dead site…

But it pretty much always is except for a few revivals every once in a while.

In this post I will write about Ike (the hurricane, remember?) and other stuff that is going on (like the Peter Pan play).

Anyhow, so, no, we are not evacuating. If we did, we probably wouldn’t go to our Aunt’s house in Louisiana (seeing as Gustav and Ike wasn’t too great for them). We’d probably go visit Ben at Abilene and stay safe up there a little farther North…but we’re not going to.

As to why we are not evacuating…ummmm, I don’t know. My parents just decided we wouldn’t and we never had before. In Iowa we’d always just go into our basement whenever a tornado hit, so we instinctively just stayed put…even though we do not have a basement anymore. My mother informs me that we will all sleep underneath the stairs in a cramped little closet that, at the moment, is already cramped with a bunch of snow gear, shoes, boxes, and boots.

The other reason we’re probably not evacuating is because, hey, we’ve never really got to experience a hurricane! We’ve never seen one before, I don’t think. Maybe that’s a good thing though…

Well, as for the theater side of everything we are starting up our CYT involvement again this year with the play Peter Pan! It’s a really fun exciting show (most of them are for us) and we all (Andrew, Daniel, and myself) were placed in various roles: Daniel will act as a young child named Michael (the youngest in the Darling family(that’s the family that Peter invades :) )) who gets to wear yellow PJ’s and…flys!! Daniel is very excited that he gets to fly around in Pajamas. And he has plenty of lines and solos.

Andrew managed to land the part of Bill Jukes, a scary pirate I assume. Andrew is planning on developing this character to whatever extent he desires (a drunken weirdo, a big mean bully, etc). Andrew dances and sings a lot with Captain Hook and the other pirates and has one line.

As for me…I get to be Smee!! Hey, that rhymed…I am very excited and love the role!!! He’s really funny and gets to have a squiggly sword named Johnny Corkscrew. Fun, fun, fun! And he gets to wear a striped outfit, too.

Also, we were driving around a bit yesterday and the traffic wasn’t too bad, except for the freeway and some other important roads. We hear from a lot of different people that they are going to evacuate. I hope the hurricane isn’t too scary…!

And, as for Ben, he’s having a lot of fun in college and has already gotten his picture in the Abilene Newspaper (he was in a talent show so now he’s really popular). He will also preform in the “Freshman Follies” and do “Puttin on the Ritz” with different lyrics that have to do with the Abilene Christian University’s cafeteria, “The Bean”. Woah, lot’s of quotation marks in that sentence. We will watch him do this and another skit thing with his dorm this Saturday! We’ll also miss a CYT rehearsal this Saturday…but I guess it’s worth it… :)

So, that’s what’s going on down here! Or, around here I guess, for most of you.

Anyhow…Bye!

Thomas Miller

Oh yah, and if you want to see the rest of the cast list of “Peter Pan” you can find it at…

Any questions about Ike or anything, just comment them I guess.

P.S. I am thinking about starting something up again on this website…for instance, as some of you know I have written two extremely lame novels…maybe I’ll post them like one chapter every week or something…I’m not sure. Any thoughts on this?

I guess if we all die in the hurricane you can count on Ben to keep the site going.

BYE!

Ben’s a college boy

Posted in Uncategorized by Thomas on the August 18th, 2008

Well, two days ago we left Ben at Abilene Christian University.

This University has a cafeteria called, “The Bean” (Ben just swipes a card and gets a buffet of different things everyday…including ice cream, froot loops, and granola) and in The Bean there’s a baby grand piano in one section so he should have fun there. :)

We helped him set up his dorm room and played Dork ball, cut throat, and pool at the pool table in the lobby with four T.V.s Abilene’s pretty cool, man! We got to watch the Olympics while running from one side of the pool table to the other (if any of you have ever played Dork ball you’ll know what I’m talking about).

Anyway, so we helped him set up his dorm room (consisting of speakers, microwave, refrigerator, vacuum, and brand new ipod touch. I’m good at tap tap revenge.)

Andrew actually stayed in Ben’s dorm room one night while we stayed at our Great Uncle’s house.

Then we all said goodbye and were really sad, but we know he’ll have a lot of fun there! I just can’t wait to see him again already. :)

Well, that’s what’s going on…just decided to post something…

Bye!

Thomas died…

Posted in Really Good News! by Ben on the July 29th, 2008

…to himself… which was already dead. But he’s all right now. All new, actually.

We’re all very glad that Thomas made the decision to be baptized this evening. We were just at home, so Mr. Miller just did it in the hot tub in our yard.

We sang “Just as I am,” “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus,” and “I Saw the Light.”

Longer Things…
